“Jack was excited to see Miles at the furmeet. Miles had been telling everyone about an animatronic fox tail he was working on, and Jack couldn't wait to see it in person. When he and his furry friends finally saw it, they were amazed. The way the tail twitched and twisted, coiled and curled, was incredibly realistic.

But once the initial thrill wore off, Jack couldn't help but find the tail unsettling. He couldn't explain why. It seemed too life-like – impossibly life-like. The others dismissed his feelings as hyperbole, while Miles just gave him an odd, almost appraising look.

Later, Miles offered to take Jack round his apartment, to show him how the tail was made. Jack thought being singled out was weird, but he went along out of curiosity. He thought it weirder still when they got to the apartment, and Miles didn't seem to have a workspace, or any materials.

Then Miles took off his Mask, and things got Wyrd.”
