Sayuri is a sumo wrestler presiding in Aomori. Before she became a sumo, life was different. During her high school years, she helped her parents out with their antique shop in suburban Aomori.

But then after Sayuri graduated, her mother died of an illness. To make matters worsen, her father's gambling addiction got him in trouble with a local crime syndicate and he must pay a debt, and the shop isn't getting many customers. One day, Sayuri got word of a sumo tournament with a 10 million Yen for the grand prize next month. Sayuri wanted to enter the tournament, but there's gonna be some 'big' competition.

For the rest of the month, she trained in the art of sumo wrestling with the help of her neighbor. Mostly the training consisted of truck-loads of food. All that training and gained weight managed to help Sayuri compete and win the tournament.

Sayuri helped her father paid the debt. With the remaining prize money, she decided to open up her own sumo school. Sayuri welcomes all comers.
