Actually yeah it is. The canyon is relatively new as it was the byproduct from some severe erosion cause by bad farming practices in teh 1800's. The lighter looser red clay eroded out and down the canyons leaving the denser white layer beneath. There were all kinds of cool striations in the walls.
Yup, they sure do. But it's either primitive camping where you have to hoof it in about 3 miles to the campsites, or have a group of 15 or more for their "pioneer" camp zones..aka places for boy scout troups. IF you go, campsites 2 and 5 are the best. We stayed at 5 and had awesome stone chairs that someone else had set up.
There is camping down at the lake a few miles away to the west. And the trail down in is fantastic, just got to watch out for quicksand at the bottom (at least after it rains that is). To the east of there, in Lumkin, is an old attraction/museum called 'Westville' with some real nicely restored old Georgia buildings
