Inktober word of the day is "Ancient."
And I once again would like to thank my sweetheart
for outlining this for me. =^^= <333333 Thank you for you help again babe. ^^
Cause I went nutty here with the inks. XD
The creature we have here is the deer skull-headed ancient forest monster the Leshen.
More specifically from The Witcher III. There's a reason why this creepy looking forest monster is feared.
I actually first encountered him in the Geralt mission from Monster Hunter World. Only recently have I really started to get into Witcher III.
This creature transcends much folklore. The Spriggan from Northern European folklore and the Wendigo from North American folklore.
All these creatures attack lone travelers and can summon crows and even wolves to attack their prey.
Of course in the Witcher III he's infamous for being quite difficult. But all-in-all I just think he looks really cool. Like a movie monster that hasn't been exploited much in film. Saw a glimpse of a similar creature in the old folklore book in the recent Pet Semetary movie. There was also a similar creature haunting the woods in the Netflix movie The Ritual. But that was more of a god-like entity than a bloodthirsty monster.
I went pretty dark here trying to get that emerging darkness feel. The deer skull was really cool to contrast between light and shadow.
So like my previous Jenti pic this is me experimenting with Corel Painter. I might've gone a little nutty but I think I got the desired effect for the most part.
