We ran out of bread in the middle of Norwegian winter and are off to the nearest Bunnpris at 3pm, relatively early in the day.

Learn to bake, and keep the four and other materials on hand.
Not only will you experience wonderful, flavorful bread, but those midnight sun expeditions will be fewer and farther between.
Not that hard to learn (I did)- you can even buy ready to bake bread dough from the supermarket that has great taste and is as easy as pop the tube, spread on a baking sheet, and pop it in the oven.
