i'm using tune up utilities 2010, it haz a turbo mode, and no-one in thier right mind could resist anything with turbo on it, lol

What motherboard and chipset are you using? Is it 780, 785, 790-based? NVIDIA nForce-based? The Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is still a very respectable CPU and is a competitor to the Core 2 Duo E6700.

Everything in your system tray will increase your time to a usable desktop. You should invest in something like Acronis TrueImage (not crappy Norton Ghost), back up your system, then perform a clean install and see if your boot times are any better.

Are you overclocking right now? I thought the 6000+ had a multiplier of 15 but yours is 15.5. The difference is only 100MHz and not really worth it. If you're doing any overclocking at all, I would back down to all system defaults with no overclock and no turbo and no bells and whistles until your performance/behavior issues are settled.

actually, i tried to overclock it using my ecs board's bios, and it won't overclock

eh, i'll just save up money and get a sweeeet gaming laptop with a core i7 extreme in it
