Capture the Present as it becomes the Past, so that you may look back on it sometime in the Future.
My two best friends and I. We're all going into the military together. This being my last day as a civilian (as I am the first to embark), we decided to take one last picture of ourselves together. To commemorate the end of our simple lives as kids, as we each take our first steps into the world and start to make lives for ourselves. I'm going to miss these days. Here's hoping we all get to take another picture like this together someday.

The vast majority of an officers responsibilities fall into the paperwork category. All politics, no action. Not my cup of tea.
I'm not saying it's boring as a fact, I just mean that it sounds extremely boring to me. I might actually become an officer some day, but not until I've reached Staff Sergeant at least.

Good luck in the military and all that. You know growing up doesn't mean that you have to leave behind your childhood as it will always be apart of you. It is only when we choose to pretend that those years never happened that we start to grow old and die.
While you may go off and become a man in your own way, know that this isn't what will make you a man, it will be the actions you take and the course you choose in life that will define you as a man. Take care of yourself and never let your inner child die. Stay young at heart and serve your country well. I look forward to hearing from you again later on this year, good luck, V.
