You have a voice remarkably similar to a bowed string instrument of some sort. A cello played at the high end of its range, maybe. Lovely sound. Your performance could use a little more intensity, maybe, it comes off a little bit "lounger singer" especially with that jazzy solo.

This one was a little bit "ambitious" at the time, in that for whatever reason we decided to have me play guitar on it. I've only recently gotten comfortable playing rhythm guitar and singing at the same time, but a year ago when this was recorded my difficulty with splitting my attention is obvious. The chords aren't terribly hard, the progression is just a little bit unintuitive. Additionally, this is one of those songs that jumps an octave in the chorus and the "intense" portions of the verses, so it's rather hard to be "intense" (or have good tone) when most of the song has me at the bottom of my range. At the time I was probably more concerned with remembering the words and the chords than vocal dynamics. I wish I had a little more flexibility, but it seems there's just some songs I don't sound great on. In a few days we'll be doing it again, don't know about getting it recorded though.
