I'm not much for fish, but the little Lanternfish is pretty cool. https://reefs.com/blog/wp-content/u.....terna-2060.jpg
Probably I'll answer "clownfish" -- that's the first thought appeared in my mind. Not a fan of these creatures, but no doubts this world can show us really unique aquatic species in terms of colorfulness and biological tricks to survive.
Also -- congratulations with round numbers in advance! Remember that this is just a first step to successful career as a fulltime artist. :)

I think my favorite fish species would probably have to be a rainbow trout but that's more because of nostalgia and memory good times I had with my dad fishing catch and release.
But anyway thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to seeing the art regardless who wins!

my favorite fish is the snakehead fish -- they're horribly invasive, can grow HUGE, and have some really pretty colorations ~
