I just wanted to do a holiday pic of Renfield looking all serious. Maybe I shoulda done it at night. But then all you'd see would be eyes.....

Oh wow, look who's nearly all grown up! Man, I would not want to get on the wrong side of this one. Dem claws, dem claws...
I would love it if you posted a night-time shot. I'm guessing it would basically be the eyeshine and not much else. It would still be awesome :)

His claws are serious, but he's got good control of them. Py, however... she hasn't yet mastered the art of restraint. Even the friendliest swipe will poke holes. I'm hoping she grows out of it eventually.
They aren't fully grown yet. At four months, they are still kittens, but they are BIG kittens.
I don't want to wind up posting nothing but cat pictures (I'm sure there are plenty of them already on the internet), but I might put up a few shots I've taken lately. Py is adorable when she wants to be.

The bug legs and stunned lizards and true tales. And I can't tell you how often I've seen any of the three hunched over something that I can't see, obviously chewing happily. When I try to intervene, I get annoyed looks and empty mouths. They could be consuming tiny space aliens for all I know.
And yes, they were a whopping 1 pound each when they came home with me. They've both quadrupled their weight since then.

And there was me thinking the two of you had named him after the Ren and Stimpy show. *Grins maniacally*.
There was a short series on the BBC a while back that focused on the behavioural ecology of domestic cats. Dominance relationships, the way they carve out territories in their neighbourhoods, things like that. It also looked at how completely alien their basic biology is, compared to ours; how insanely fast their reflexes are, for example. I was reminded of that series when I saw this photo.

And I was going to correct you because Ren in the (former) male... until I realized I set the tags up top to mark the submission's gender as "Female."
Oops. I guess he's as close to female as any neutered male can get.
