Well, I only saw it once and that was ages ago, but I do remember it opened with a scene of Ace Ventura trying to rescue a raccoon (I think) that was dangling precariously from a rope stretched above Niagara-sized waterfalls. And failing... which was the reason he went into the monestary =~.^=

That's so strange! The first one I saw was a baby on the roof of my apartment in Staten Island and then again in Central Park and then again in Staten Island crossing the street. ...and then there was a dead one on the sidewalk not far from my house here in Brooklyn!
