I intended to participate, but once I got 4k words in I realized it just wasn't going to work out. Both because I likely would go over the wordcount and that the plot had expanded past the initial premise of the contest. I'm still likely to finish the story I made, but it'll end up being its own thing.
Anyways, good job on the winners!

After seeing the quality of the other entries, I really didn't expect to win anything! But, if I can be sappy for a moment, I won a lot more than it seems.
For one, I wasn't aware there was such a strong community of TF authors here (in fact, I somewhat underestimated the competition). I am both happy and humbled to have found it.
This contest helped me push past my self-doubt and procrastination to finally take the publishing plunge, and seeing the quality of the work on offer will no doubt be instrumental in improving my own. I feel I have a lot of growth ahead of me.
I'm very grateful for the contest itself, for the joyful validation that comes with winning the aftermath prize, and for the money that comes with it - I'll put it towards an icon, perhaps, or a TF image.
Thank you very much,
Xerox2 and
skiesofsilver, and to everybody who participated in this event. You're all doing wonderful things for our community.
(And thank you also, Xerox, for being patient with my technical difficulties.)

Congratulations to all of the winners! I'm looking forward to spending the time reading as many of these as I can, when I can.
Of course I'm a little sad that I didn't win, but I also feel like I didn't put a whole lot of effort into it. I'm hoping the timing will be better if there is a next time so that I can put more effort into my entry.
On that note, it would be really fun if we did this again. Even if the prizes are a pat on the back, I would very much enjoy more contests like this!!
