Done for the January Equine Exchange, for Crystal_Pheonix of her character Khura'hejn.
She mentioned that he was a great warrior with a softspot for foals, so here he is protecting a little one.
Self Critique:
I tried a few new techniques in the background--it is pastel, layered with colored pencil with marker over and followed again by pastels. I really like the grass, but I hate the sky. I was trying to get an effect similar to some of my photoshopped backgrounds, but in the future I believe I will be sticking with markers to get the effect. I do like the painterly quality, but I have difficulty keeping the streaking in the same direction at all times.
That and DAMN is a cougar hard to draw from behind. They look like over-sized mustelids at the best of times!
