Pickups were designed to drive around fields, just not OH MY GODDESS HANG ON!!! irrigation ditches OH GODDESS THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THEM! cause the frame tends to rust easily and SNAP DIVE DIVE DIVE sorta breaks. Of course sitting in the back, now there is an A ticket ride. HEY! WHEN DID CARL LEARN TO FLY???

The hippies that did drive, they usually drove a manual transmission. Very popular was the VW bug, or the van. Both cheap, reliable and easy to work on. Also popular was the chevy van with the rear seat removed and replaced by a mattress. Pick up trucks? Well, you have an eight foot bed that never needs to be made. ^_*
