Nice job man, but didn´t you say that I could still see it´s my character? xD
Anyhow, number one reminds me of my own old stuff or your very first pictures of Tyra. Number two and three looking very classic - I´ll keep them in mind. No. 4 has a certain perky expression, very cool. Five is a character head for a smart rex! Six looks very cute and kind of innocent. Number seven, looks more like an Allosaur with these strong eyebrows (nice). Eight is a very nice main character, I love that huge snout. Number nine grins widely^^ and ten is drake-tiger-claw-style (awesome).

The example is to show you that a T. rex can be drawn in many ways... and that there is no reason for your character to look like a clone. Saying these heads don't look like Delilah is silly, because so far all you want is for Delilah to look like Tyra, and you're too stubborn to try anything else. You do not have to use any of these heads, they are just a starting point to make you see that there are different shapes you can use for cheeks, snouts, eyes, and eyebrows.

Delilah needs to have her own unique design, and you need to be the one to choose, otherwise you will be letting other people dictate what she looks like AGAIN, because you've already made that mistake by adopting Fossil's style.

Whether you expected it or not, but even I can imagine that a rex can be drawn in a huge variety... and I have a flashback right now. I didn´t say specifically that none of them looks like Delilah - just remember my second sentence. And whether you expected it or not, I don´t have a bad feeling at all by being stubborn about Delilah. I wrote that story often enough and you know that. By the way I tried out different character designs more than one time. Well Delilah has her own unique design. That Fossil started drawing Tyra seven years earlier isn´t my fault. I always had her design in my head, even before I knew about Tyra and I love Delilah the way she is and not the way that other people want me to. You maybe didn´t get it, but no body every complained about Delilah since I drew her for the first time until today.

There´s one thing I need to get straight: I don´t write this because I feel offended (I´m really not), but because I want you to know that I don´t care about argueing people. I don´t care about what they say because they don´t care about what I say; and this is an experience! I only draw for myself and share my art with those who like it too - finish.

...but that doesn´t mean that I stick at one level. I always try to improve everything: design, anatomy, stylistic looks and so on. Everything that needs to be said is already said.

oh ´for the case it didn´t seem so: I really appreciate that style paper with large selection of 10 different designs!

People HAVE complained about Delilah, to you, AND to us. People think Delilah is a rip off of Tyra because of the way you draw her IDENTICAL to Tyra. Removing the tattoos and changing the underbelly color is not enough to make her different! I know that you have old pictures of Delilah from before you ever saw Fossil's work, and that the characters do look somewhat similar-- But instead of developing her on your own, you chose to use Fossil's style since he already had something close to what you wanted. Don't you want Delilah to look DIFFERENT from everyone else? Doesn't it bother you when people think that Delilah IS Tyra?

You can't just wait for the criticism to go away. Until you TRULY develop your own style, you will ALWAYS be "that kid who copies Fossil".

I know you're not going to take me seriously, because I'm not Fossil, and you only listen to him (or pretend to)... but I'm just telling you what he's TOO NICE to say. I DO know what Fossil thinks of you, and I know what he tries to tell you, and I see your replies when you reject his feelings. I wish you respected Fossil enough to realize that you keep *disrespecting* him, even after he has been so patient with you.

If they complained, then I couldn´t remember, I just don´t understand why they complaining to YOU. I know very well what people may think regarding to who looks like who, removing tatoos is not enough and all that not necessary talk. I don´t need to develop anything on Delilah because she always has been like she is and I will keep her that way no matter what´s coming - That´s an old covenant! But even I try out new things like a different eye design or whatever. And I draw her just as I imagine since 2006. I just "chose" Fossils style to speed up my technical progress. I already admitted that was wrong and I have more influences than you believe. And NO, it doesn´t bother me at all when people think Delilah is Tyra the latter was earlier there either.

Artists like you told me it needs much time to really develop an own style - and now the same artists don´t want to give me the time I need...

If you KNOW that I won´t take you seriously, then why are you writing that much? And I´m definitly not a pretender, but when I don´t take you seriously, then you probably won´t take me seriously either so it really doesn´t matter what I say. And I understood what Fossil/you are/is saying since april 18th 2008 and even longer. How can you tell that I "don´t respect him enough"? I see nothing disrespectful.
And why shall I continue arguing? You and some other artists who "tried to help" just had criticism for me, some of you in a disgusting way. Fossil is the only one of the"style-having" artists who lauds me from time to time. All I recieve from you is criticism or ignorance.

If I didn't take you seriously, I wouldn't bother to reply. If I thought you were not an individual worthy of conversation, I would ignore you completely. I worry that you won't listen to me, because of the way you behave around Fossil.

Yes, it can take a long time to develop your own style, but if you continue to use someone else's style as a crutch in the meantime, you will be hindered. It will become a habit that is very hard to break.

Honestly I always had a feeling that it was pretty close to "ignore completely"... anyhow I actually intended not to reply to this kind of critique, it´s not a problem at all to ignore Freehaven, but I can not ignore you. On the one hand because I take you seriously as well, on the other hand I would be totally dumb to destroy a possible well "relationship" to such an experienced and also serious artist like you (same thing for Lizardbeth).
By the way, what bothers you about "the way" I "behave around Fossil"? If there really is something the tell me, I won´t eat you xD

With your last two sentences, you gave me all in all the most valuable advices ever (same for Fossil), but even the best advices won´t become better when somebody repeats them 100times... Youßre absolutely right, Fossils style in my fingers is alrady a hindering habit. But I always (at least for two years) worked on that to develop my own style, of course I want Delilah to look unique. I simply can´t do it overnight or in a week or a month - I need much time. But I will reach my aim one day.
