I finally went to my first convention last weekend at Anthro Southeast! It was so much fun!!!!! It was also my birthday weekend as well (Oct 27)! How awesome is that?! Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish up my suit before time for the convention so if you saw a furless foam-head running around, that was me ^^; But you know what? I didn't care and that wasn't going to stop me from having fun and wow was it fun! Everyone was so friendly and cool. I got several things at the dealers den. I tried to go to every panel I could, but made the poor decision of driving there and back every day and having to leave the Chattanoogan to grab some food occasionally instead of getting a room at the hotel, so that cut into time some. Next year I will try to book a room so I wont have to run around outside of the convention as much. That being said I still got to go to a Lot of panels. They were all really fun and I learned quite a bit about how to make and maintain fursuits. I took notes and believe me, next year I will come back with a finished and better made fursuit! >:) I did, after all, promise a certain dutchie I'd come back next year with a finished fursuit and I intend on keeping that promise (also you were so sweet and nice and friendly ahh! I will have to give you hugs next con!) I already can't wait to go to ASE again next year! I am trying to be patient about waiting for the staff to post photos and con-goers to post pictures and videos, but I'm just so excited it's hard to wait! My favorite event of the convention had to be the fursuit games! I wish they lasted longer and you could do some of the games a second time to give people a second chance but I know that would make the event twice as long but it was still so much fun! And ah! My ears had to betray me during limbo! I bet it was a close catch! I thought for sure I would've made it longer than that! I'll have to practice my limbo skills for when I come back next year! There were some impressive limbo-ers there! And don't even get me started on the dancers! They were all incredible! It must have been a really difficult pick for the judges with so many talented contestants! I really hope to see a video pop up on youtube for the dance comps because I did not get a very good seat and could only see the tops of every dancers' heads. I'm glad they decided to leave the lights on for finals because you couldn't really see much during tryouts with the lights off, especially for the darker colored fursuiters. And the parade! Can't forget that! My first fursuit parade! Everything was so much fun!!!!! When photos are posted on the ASE website, I will try to post one of me here. If you remember seeing me at the con (and also read this far oops) comment or send me a note or something! You all made this such a great and fantastic first con for me and I want to thank you all! And extra thank you's to everyone that wished me a happy birthday! I think this was my best birthday ever!
Also this character (and fursuit) was supposed to be Xkai at first but for whatever reason I got silver and white fur instead of the brown and caramel (I don't remember why because I bought the fur like 3-5 years ago). I know when I got the fur I tried to play it off to myself as oh, he just has a winter coat... which has completely different markings... Yeah so that's not gonna work. So, I have made a plan for this fellow and decided to name them Winter. Not only did my excuses not make much sense but it's been so long now I feel like as I am putting more into this character I am much different now than I was 3-5 years ago so it just makes more sense to make them a new character. They don't really have many distinct markings right now but I will be adding many in the future to make them a little less plain.
