Ah, the Franchi SPAS-12, a classic. In truth, I'm actually stuck between obtaining a SPAS-12 or a Kel-Tec KSG as my go-to shotgun. I'm not even really a shotgun kinda person, but those two are nice and either would be a nice addition to my collection of currently 70+ firearms.
Awesome art as always, by the way!

the SPAZ is a nice gun, if a bit heavy. it's not great as a pump-action, and it's not great as a semi-auto, but it's SOLID... and you will feel that as soon as you try to pick it up.
Granted, I think it's an awesome weapon for a collection! I just wouldn't wanna lug it around with me for very long (says the guy with a full sized Thompson 1927A1 with 50-round drum)
I LOVE the KSG. Love it better now that it they are past the second generation and have fixed 90% of the problems they suffered from at launch. WHEN you get a KSG, follow the manual. Dry Cycle it about 500 times, run Snap-Caps through it for loading and unloading practice. it has a bit of a break in period before you can load it and take it to the range.
Second: ONLY USE FACTORY 2 3/4 ammo. no handloads. seen a few too many videos of someone taking a KSG and putting handloads in them just to have the loads fall apart in the mag and jam up everything.
you have 70+ guns? WOW, I Finally found someone OTHER THAN Dragonman that has more guns than me.
I wanna come visit so I can pet your collection

Yeah, I've held both so I know that 'solid' feel you're talking about with the SPAS. And yeah, it's a beast to lug around for terribly long. But it's the semi-auto capability and ammo capacity that I like about it. As for the KSG, being able to switch loads on the fly is nice. As for hand-loaded rounds and the KSG, yeah, I don't reload shotgun shells. Heck, I shoot shotguns so rarely that there'd be better cost savings just buying it. I *DO* reload my .45-70 and .50 AE (among a few others), cuz the heck with buying that ammo at $1.25/per bullet (at minimum).
I reload 13 different calibers and have setups for three more that I haven't bothered to setup yet.
I mean, 7.62x39 is Soooo cheap there's not really a point, and I only have the SKS so it's not like I shoot that much of it.
7.62x54r, same thing. Mossy Nuggets only holds 5 rounds at a time, and after 80-100 rounds I'm pretty much bored and need to go home by that point.
.223remington/5.56x45 nato. I have 5k rounds, and reloads for those 5k rounds past that... I actually think I might be good there considering I only have one ar at this time. the second one will be an AR-10 in 308, so...
yeah. I'm 45 years old, with 44/45 "items" personally (most are 22's but hey)
I know what I like, and I like GUNS. Lots of guns.

A man after my own heart, lol. With me, there's also cats and lots of meat, but hey. Got a Nagant myself, only *slightly* modified; Timney trigger kit tuned to about a 1-2lb (can't remember the last tweak I did to it) pull (don't sneeze or even breath too hard for that matter), custom-milled bolt and spring assembly with a SMOOTH pull action and turn-down enlarged knob and beveled finished, custom-milled muzzle brake, Archangel stock with 3x 10rd mags, custom-milled scope mount that was 'fun' to tap and mount, and an oh-god-I-can't-remember-the-brand 3x9x50 illuminated reticle scope. You can't have a crap-quality scope and mount for that beast due to the recoil, lol, you'll just be buying a new scope every other shoot day.

1936 Tula made 91/30, round receiver, all numbers matching
buttstock clip pouch (holds two 5-rnd clips) https://www.strikehardgear.com/mosi.....ttstock-pouch/
only SERIOUS modification I made was to have the numbers matching bolt converted into a turn-bolt "sniper" style bolt. MUCH easier to work the action this way!
I have a set of dog colars for the sling, and the bayonet.
I have a bipod that I use on it once in a while, but I can't have the bayonet on it when I do that because it clamps on the barrel
