I guess Shelob would be a little too obscure for the kids to get .. but then again how many kids outside of India know about Kali (technically the destroyer of everything, not just evil)?
The only ref that the tykes would be at all likely to understand would probably be Charlotte. She could spin a web on the porch that said "SOME PIG" .. but that wouldn't be scary.
