[$] Sticky Situation in Room 307 - By WolfInTheWalls
Room 307, the Hostage Hotel.
It was a strange name for a hotel, but the reviews for it were glowing, and definitely legitimate. The prices were also surprisingly affordable, although that could probably be explained by it being the off-season.
I swiped the keycard through the reader in the room door before passing it to Delta. They were going out to a nearby shop to get some snacks, and would need the card leter to get into the room. With a quick wave, I let myself into the room and closed the door behind me, the electronic lock clicking as it re-secured itself. The room had a cozy interior, thick carpeting on the floors muffled my footsteps, both the couch and bed had a large amount of padding and cushions, and there was even one of those tiny little fridges filled with overpriced drinks that one would expect to be in any classy hotel.
Carrying Delta's and my suitcases over into the corner, I started to unpack and lay out everything important. Chargers, shampoos, pajamas, neatly arringing them in a long line. Once I had everything unpacked, I noticed a little spider crawling on top of the bed. It wasn't very big, maybe the size of a peanut.
"Hey there, little guy! You probably don't want to crawl around there, someone might sit on you by accident." I said to the spider in my best reassuring voice as I carefully cupped my hands around it. After peeking though my fingers to make sure it was okay, I carried it over to the balcony doors, and let it out on the table outside. It was a warm night, so they'd be fine out there.
Heading back inside, I looked over at the bathroom, deciding I might as well wash up while Delta was away. I stroll inside and grab a towel, placing it on the floor next to the bath before turning the tap on to start filling it. A series of clicks and hisses come from my person as the plating of my suit unsecures itself. Soon enough, everything from my chestplate to my boots is in a neat little pile on the bathroom floor; leaving my rubber-covered body in full view. Right as I'm about to pull off my helmet and remove the rest of my suit, I notice a second spider, larger than the first; scampering around on the sidewall of the tub. It's larger size (and longer legs) allows it to keep evading my attempts to gently grab it with my hands. Eventually, I get the idea to use the glass on the sink to trap it, slipping my hand underneath as I lift the glass away from the tub.
"Listen... Even if you're just a little spider, I'd rather you don't look at me while I'm naked." I say to the trapped spider, quickly pulling a towel around myself and heading out onto the balcony, where I uncerimoniously poured the spider out onto the table, before sauntering back inside and returning to the bathroom. Seeing the bath is now properly filled, I turn off the tap and put the glass back onto the sink before grabbing onto the sides of my helmet. Right as I'm about to unlock and remove it, A rather loud squeaking sound comes from outside the room.
"Eh? What now?" I ask myself, rolling my eyes and walking into the main room. I couldn't see anything amiss, however...
CRRRREEEEEAK!
My eyes dart around the room, trying to find whatever made the sound. It doesn't take long for me to see the source: On the ceiling, a MASSIVE spider was staring down at me!
"O-oh shit!" I curse, my eyes widening as I immeditely break into a sprint, running for the exit. My hands firmly grip the door handle and try to pull it open, but to my surprise, it didn't budge! I try to find whatever unlocking mechanism the door has, but there only seems to be a keycard reader.
And I gave the only card to Delta...
I turn around to try and find another way out, just in time to see the spider jumping into me. The impact was a lot less harsh than I would have expected from something of that size, but it was still enough to push me over onto the floor. Now that I was up close, I could see there was something weird about the spider. It was all shiny, and made strange squeaking sounds whenever it moved. It was... Made of rubber? As much as this puzzled me, I was much more focused on trying to break free, kicking my legs at the creature and trying to pull myself away. Unfortunately, I only had 4 limbs, it had 8. And it was way more flexable than I was.
Despite putting up the best fight I could, the spider simply wrapped it's legs around my limbs to keep them still, before lifting me up and positioning my legs in front of it's mouth. Oh god, it was going to try and eat me! My struggles intensified, I tried everything to try and loosen the creature's grip on me, but it was simply too strong. I could feel my legs slowly sliding into the spider's rubbery, slick mouth. And by slowly, I meant slowly. It seemed to be savouring every moment of this. I wasn't going anywhere, after all, it could afford to be as slow as it liked.
As my torso started to get swallowed, the spider moved my arms downwards, pinning them to my sides as I continued to slide further and further in. As I desperately struggled, both my hands passed by hollows in the otherwise uncompromising rubbery tunnel I was in; and, thinking that I could use them as handholds, I pushed my hands into them. My eyes widened in alarm as it turned out that more than just my hands went in. In fact, my arms were completely sucked into the holes, which turned out to be hollows on the inside of the spider's frontmost legs. While I was able to just about make them wiggle, the spider was able to override any movement I made that it didn't approve of.
Not long after that, my head started to sink into the spider's maw, slowly but surely closing in around me. Everything was getting tighter and tighter as more air was pumped into the spider's body. But right at the very last moment, it stopped. All that was left uncovered was my visor. The spider's maw had migrated up a little, and it now looked like my eyes were it's own eyes. While all this was happening, a pair of tiny hoses had snaked around and connected to my helmet's filters to allow me to breath, but doing so was very difficult; giving me just enough air and no more.
After a while of squirming against the impossibly tight rubber, huffing and whimpering the whole time, the sound of the door unlocking and being opened filled the room. The spider immeditely scurried up onto the ceiling, peering down at the new arrival.
"Hey, Harry! I'm back from the shop, I found some of these snacks that you'd like." Delta called out as they entered the room, closing the door behind them. I desperately try to cry out for help, but the thick rubber surrounding most of my head was able to almost completely absorb the sound, causing it to only become audable at very close distances.
"Harry? You there?" Delta called out again, placing their bags of shopping onto the stand beside the bed. The spider was slowly crawling along the ceiling, getting itself into the perfect position. With a particularly frantic struggle, I was able to make the spider squeak loudly enough that Delta was able to hear it, causing them to look up.
As they looked up, Delta would simply see a giant spider falling on top of them, pinning them onto the bed. They of course immeditely began to struggle, but once again, 8 limbs versus 4. Given that I was already inside the spider, there wan't exactly space to put this newly aquired prey, but the spider had a much more traditional way of solving this problem. Reaching behind it's abdomen with it's hindlegs, the spider produced a thick, extremely sticky strand of webbing, which it quickly began to put to work.
Delta's body was rapidly spun around while the webbing was held against them. The stickiness quickly took over, and with some deft manipulation of the spider's legs, Delta's body started to get wrapped up in a thick coccoon. I could just about make out their grunting and cries for help, which grew more and more frantic as the coccoon began to cover their chest and arms, although curiously enough, the spider avoided Delta's wings during this stage. The reason was soon made apparent, as once the rest of the torso and neck area was finished, the spider began to individually wrap up Delta's wings,.
With everything except the head now fully wrapped, the spider moved down to Delta's legs and began to weave a second, tighter layer of webbing over the first, followed by a third, and finally a fourth, leaving them well and truely trapped. All throughout this process, I continued to faintly hear Delta crying out, but this was eventually stopped as the spider stuffed a very thick wad of webbing into Delta's mouth, securing it with a layer of webbing that covered their entire head, except for the eyes.
Satisfied that the newly caught prey wouldn't be able to get away, the spider stuck an even thicker strand of webbing onto the foot area of the coccoon, before climbing up onto the ceiling and securing the strand in place, leaving the coccoon dangling upside down. A second strand was added at the top of the head area, which was attached onto the opposite end of the ceiling. If someone were to enter the room now, they wouldn't be able to see Delta unless they had the sense to look up.
As a final finishing touch, the spider pulled out another wad of webbing and crawled over to the coccooned Delta, pressing it over their eyes to complete the encasement. More anchors were added to the coccoon soon after, both to pervent Delta from swinging around, and to make it even less likely for the coccoon to fall down from it's current resting place.
Trapped, completely helpless, and at the mercy of the giant spider, both Delta and I could only wonder what it had in store for us next...
