First verse is wobbly because I have a sore throat :< I was fine earlier but it shows in the way I struggle with the last line.
Just to clarify, the music is the karaoke version of the song (which I found on youtube :P), all the vocals are mine, so I did the chorus harmonies myself as well as the main vocals.
This is the result of my new mic and software ;) Hope it's better than it was!

Mine was like $20? or cheaper. I'm thinking about starting to talk in my streams, but I can't understand why it lags so much. Like I talk and like I hear myself a minute later it seems in the video. So I don't know if it just does that. or my settings I have it on is making it lag so bad.
There's a distinct lack of Master Chiefs here!
Pretty good rendition! I like your voice. A lot. But there's a couple of problems in that regard. Firstly, it seems like you're rather reserved... you're holding back. Not exactly a bad thing, but it does sound like you were a little uncomfortable singing that (nerves, stress, posture... could've been anything really). Secondly, I did notice there were some problems containing the levels from the 1:05 mark onwards. Moving away from the mic a little might have corrected that, or maybe adjusting the vocal track during mixing, depending on where the distortion was happening.
No major criticisms there, but might help unlock the potential I see - or rather hear - in your voice. It's beautiful, but I think it can be even more beautiful!

The key isnt that comfortable at the start for me :/ she goes a lot lower than I can in this key. I might change the key later. There's also the danger of "immitating her". I know this isnt my best, I was trying to play with my new stuff :D Also when I recorded this, I mustve sang it about 50 times (not joking) and my voice really got tired so I stopped and jsut left it at this.
My mum hates me singing so I cant really record myself too much :/ She got home just as I was doing this so I stopped x_x Yeah the levels aren't great either, I havent mixed it at all. XD

Your mother doesn't appreciate talent, it would seem. I could listen to you sing all day.
As for the recording woes; yeah, sometimes it doesn't work out. If this were a serious recording attempt rather than just trying out the new equipment, then I would've suggested to try again another day. Hmm... that might sound a little harsh which isn't my intention. As for just trying out new stuff, you did a pretty good job. There. That sounds more like the tone I'm trying to convey.

Woot to Lily singing ^^ Though my brain is registering your voice as different, though that is probably due to coming from noisy environment to relatively quiet one. But it could be the sore throat you mentioned or just clearer quality of your new mic. I vote all of the above. But Lily singing is still awesome ^_^
It's probably different because of the choice of song and the way I've tried to accent it in places like Beyonce. It's definately slightly different because it's not my usual style of singing. It means I have to put more power behind my singing and that's not really how I sing usually when I go acoustic. :)
Samson GO Mic It's a portable one, not "top of the range" at all but it's like a starting out mic :)
Thanks ^_^! x
Thanks ^_^! x
Yeah to be honest I have no idea how to make things sound "right" with the mixing. I really need to read up on it and experiment with the software :) This is the first thing I've done to test things so it's bound to be a bit wrong. XD!
Mic is pretty good though, it's this one: http://www.samsontech.com/products/.....fm?prodID=2010
