When you get a story published in 'Werewolves Versus' and your wife carves you a pumpkin to celebrate.
It's out, and on Halloween to boot! Not enough werewolfy goodness in your life? Well there's a fix for that, right here:

Pay-what-you-want, from $1. There are some wonderful stories in this issue, and the production itself is gorgeous.
"The mystery and danger of circuses and carnivals and travelling fairs tantalizes the wide-eyed child in us all. After all, anything could happen to you in the shadows between hastily-erected tents or in the big top's center ring. Stumble down the wrong sawdust-strewn path, and you might meet – or become – the creature of your nightmares. But don't worry! The clowns and carnies won't bother you as long as you're under the Ringmaster's yellow gaze. Stick around! The moon is rising, and the show is about to begin. Our first issue after a year's hiatus celebrates fur and greasepaint, black canvas and blood, strongmen with secrets and the ancient spirits our festivals appease. 186 pages of werewolf artwork, stories, and poetry by these contributors: Anhedral, Chris Pearce, David McCoy, Gary Draconi, John Sowder, Juan C. Moreno, Latent Ookami, Nothere3, Quebecoiswolf, RAPIDPUNCHES, Stephanie Gallon, Tandye Rowe, V. T. Roy, Viergacht, Wolfymewmew."
Anhedral is a happy bunny (err, wolf) tonight :)

Thank you! It was a privilege to be included. And yes, WV07 is a substantial publication, although Werewolves Verses Fascism was double the page count! As for the purchase, you should totally go for it; at the base price, it's practically free :) I'd love to hear your opinion on my story, and all the other entries too. This issue has some artwork, but it's mainly stories, and a lot of them are very, very good...
I had thought the werewolf trope to be long overplayed and dead and gone. 'Werewolves Versus' proved me wrong, big time.

It was a complete surprise, and I was really touched. Louise does like to carve pumpkins; she normally does at least one every Halloween. These Canadians, y'know... no one does pumpkins quite like 'em :)
She was actually a bit disappointed with the outcome here, and from certain angles I suppose it does remind me more of your FA icon than a ravening werewolf. Still love it to bits :D

you have such a very loving wife... this is just incredible... my Gloria almost gave me a heart attack Sunday. after Halloween she bought this huge rat looking thing (on sale) and then hid it in the porch grill. Of course I went out with a bucket of water to clean it up and got the shock of my life when I opened the hood. She's still laughing about it.
