A new character I got my hands on, originally owned and created by  Streyzhe
I liked his theme and think I can use him in my writing so went for it! I did get some artwork along with him, I'll upload some of it in time. But, backstory time! Its still kind of in process and I'll likely modify it a little here and there. Or scrape that and restart from zero. I did that twice already before landing on an idea I liked.

Also a dumb question. What species do you see when you look at him? Canine is too loose of a term.

An otherworldly being, created from the souls of those who perished without a warmth to support them in their lives.
He seeks warmth and takes pleasure in observing couples and family members being affectionate, though at times he will feel jealousy that will push him to mischievous deeds that interfere with the people he observes in a selfish attempt to feel the warmth they radiate as he can no longer feel it by himself.
He does have magical powers which he uses to provide a modicum of the warmth he had forgotten to those who are in need of it, in the form of consoling dreams and will even guide the lost and lonely to places that can support them, or protect those who require his protection. In times of need he can also provide his warmth to those who lack it, although his warmth and presence will be forgotten once the shielded person finds true warmth and all that will be left is fragmented memories echoing.
He cannot read minds, however he can sense people's emotions which often affect his state of mind, which is how he chooses who to help and what sparks his jealousy as well.
Invisible to the eye unless he chooses to make himself visible, and communicates solely with his thoughts and emotions rather than words- The language he knows is dead for a long time. At times perceptive people can sense his presence and maybe even call upon him, thought usually he cannot be forced to comply and answering their plea is up to his discretion.
