I did an Inktober, but only scanned the stuff now. Sapient alien species sorted by name, mostly having appeared in the written episodes (including the not-uploaded fourth).
Nerikei: A large exoskeletal with a crested head. Only recently joined, the feudal system and hierarchy structures are still present, with the nobility seeing morals more as suggestions than guidelines. Females are larger, heavier and have smaller crests, which have a red colouration in males. Featured in Episode 4 as a random male and a female noble who is hedonistic, horny and has questionable ways of running her business.
Omunu: A quick-footed exoskeletal, which unlike most exoskeletals doesn't have a skin cover and requires molts to grow. For an intelligent species they are surprisingly shortlived, only reaching maturity close to their life's end and reproducing once. As a consequence, Omunu live as tight-knit families, where knowledge is transferred to transcend the short lifespan of the individual. One of the harshest punishments is being banished from their family, which causes the individual to desperately seek a replacement, often enough ending up in a criminal gang. Pronouns are generally translated as "they", because having a gender assigned to them is associated with death. Appeared in Ep. 3 (a banished individual in a criminal enterprise) and 4 (a briefly mentioned family group).
Pomunian: Large, strong and heavy-set, with two large throat sacs to enhance their booming voice. The four sprawled legs give them a very solid stance. Featured in Episode 3 in the form of a weapon dealer, who was the smartest in the group. He had been depicted without the face tentacles, which were present in the initial sketches but missing in the actual drawings, so I guess his culture has a habit of surgically removing those for one reason or another, like marking criminals.
Qono'en: An odd-looking vertically-oriented exoskeletal with a curled-up body and an trunk that extends from the "mouth" to smell and eat. Featured in Episode 4 as two attendants of a meeting.
Raakano: An uncommon species that originally lives in forests. They are not particularly flexible and are noted to have trouble looking upwards. Featured in Episode 4 in the form of an elderly hotel worker.
