Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I woke up at around 8:45 when grandma called for me. I got up and brushed my teeth, then moved a couple boxes downstairs for grandma. We waited in the living room for Paul, then while chatting I saw his vehicle pull up. Grandma started making some eggs and ham and cheese for us, and all the while Paul and I started moving boxes. It didn't take long for breakfast to finish, and I ate some before we continued moving.
The first load we took was the furniture, and I gotta say that the person who figures out a way to make moving not suck will become a billionaire. We moved 2 couches, 2 bookshelves, 2 chairs (for Marty and Diane), the drumset (For Zack's kids) and a number of other items. We filled the back of the truck and I accidentally got us lost while making our way to the storage locker (For some reason Google wanted to take us to Fairmont Road...But we did get to pass by a really cool looking old school building that looked like a Stephen King place!). We got to iStorage and unloaded all the furniture in a pretty quick manner, then returned and started packing. I passed boxes to Paul and he stacked them. We were very quick with this packing, and we managed to get a large chunk of the boxes into the truck before Leo arrived. When he showed up he brought this delicious cooked meat, lettuce, cheese, which you slathered with dijon mustard. Also there was a red bean and rice with goat cheese...So good!
After eating we continued tackling the house's boxes again, and it seemed more and more likely that we'd head out that day. I spent some time closing my boxes and loading my car, then popping in and helping grandma pack some last minute things as Leo and Paul packed the vehicle. By the time I finished loading my vehicle they were close to finished, but we had to wait on grandma as she slowly filled more boxes...And emptied out the fridge...And cleaned up some of the floors...
Eventually we finished and headed out. She and Leo came out the side door, she gave us all a hug, and with tears in her eyes and a bit of sadness in my heart, at around 4 PM, we said goodbye to the Raeburn House forever.
I then set out on the road, and my car was packed. Like, dangerously so. I managed to navigate out of the city easily, though Ian called as soon as I set out on my journey and I had to call him back. Also the plant in my passenger seat was setting off the alarm and I had to struggle to buckle the seatbelt.
I drove and drove and drove, but around the city of La Grange I grew sleepy, so I pulled in to a parking lot after the first intersection and took a smol nap. It wasn't long, maybe about 10 minutes, but it was enough. I then walked to the neighboring Marathon gas station and got some beef jerky, a Mr. Goodbar, and a cup of French Vanilla cappuccino. I thought that would help keep me awake but as the night wore on and the sky darkened, I had to stop at Beaver Dam and get a Monster energy.
Also because I drank about a quarter of a gallon of milk before leaving grandma's, I had to stop like 4 times and pee.
Eventually around 9 Central Time I got home. I unloaded the cooler and potatoes, and found out that one of the potates was rotten, so I had to throw out the whole bag. I called grandma and told her I was safe, then called mum and dad. After, I cooked one of the steaks and ate it, then spent time goobing off online and watching tubes. I grabbed a shower around 1ish and then relaxed in bed after. I wound up heading to bed around 1:30.
I hope everyone has a Home Arrival day! <333
