Maria came to the church from off the streets. At first, she was not sincere about her work for the church. This changed after she survived electrocution. After falling into a fusion puddle (wha?) and trying to get out with what she didn't know was a wire to amplifiers, she spent a month in the hospital. It was either during or after her time there that she figured out that she'd gained new abilities from it. Now she can make shockwaves and soundwaves, and also listen to faint noises from thousands of miles away. With that in mind, she decided to devote herself to upholding justice and peace in the best way she could.
