Mika's former owner left FA, but we decided not to abandon the character. She was adopted as a character in my setting. I redesigned her somewhat (mostly decreased her cup size and added some markings - they are supposed to be chocolate, by the way).

Mika, a member of a tribe, lived a relatively peaceful life on some feral planet when it was visited by space pirates who were planning to set up a new base in the jungles of that planet. Federation, upon learning of their plans, sent a special operations unit to take the pirate operation on that planet down. One of the members of the unit was Ren. During the initial stage of the operation, when Ren's team was attacked by unexpectedly aggressive local wildlife, Ren was wounded and rescued by Mika. And while he was recovering in her village, it was attacked by the pirates who captured everyone there. Later, when the main forces of Ren's unit attacked the pirate base, in the ensuing chaos most of Mika's tribe was killed. When the pirates were vanquished, Mika had nowhere to go, and Ren decided to take her with him, into the Federation. It caused him some problems with his superiors, but ultimately he managed to work it out.

..So yeah, Mika's backstory got rather dark.
