A sketch TF commission I drew for  Artherion featuring their character turn into a large Rathalos (from Monster Hunter) after killing too many creatures in the Ancient Forest and using them to craft his armor and weapons. While the enchanted gear was providing him an almost inhuman power, it quickly made him want to gather always more to increase his strength and abilities.
Absorbing more and and more essences, he was a killing machine. But his human body had limits, and one day, his very physical envelope couldn't contain all the spirits he had greedily taken. They started changing him, making him grow out of the armor he had made out of their bones.

Rapidly losing his human aspect, the warrior didn't have much time to fully realize what was happening. His surprise quickly turned into shock. But soon enough, it started being replaced with rage. The monsters he had slained were trying to take over his will. He could feel them invade his thoughts. His arms turned into large membranous wings, he was losing balance. Only his massive new tail was preventing him from falling on his back, and even then, this bipedal stance was not suited for him anymore. He was big. So tall. He was already bigger than the trees. His panicked friends had run away. He could see far away in the distance. His torso was being reshaped to fit his new anatomy.

And then he realized. To give in to these changes would probably grant him all the powers he had been seeking for. He could be, no, he would be the most ferocious Rathalos that ever ruled this territory. This was sounding like an absolutely perfect deal. And as he let the instincts take over, he bent over, clenching his talons and deeply scratching the rocky ground. His large tail whipping through the air and smashing the small palm trees as if they were dry twigs. The new monster let out a powerful roar. His mind overflown by new instincts, his thoughts were for now only filled with feral thoughts. He was a Rathalos.
