I love the lower left portion, actually. I like how it helps illustrate the action. I am trying to keep myself from using art terms or speaking to specifically to not look like a jackass. That was an explanation of my behavior.

i probably agree with YourMainParadox. if as the title suggests, he's throwing the spear, it would seem the hand position is a little awkward an unnatural. i prefer to think he is just running with it, although that does make it a slightly awkward and effeminate run. still, it's small potatoes really. this image has a great sense of action, mood, and is in a good style.

Yeah, I'm willing to say this is more of a run than a throw. A run to get to a throw stance, that is. Javelin throw just seems to work a lot better with both feet planted firmly on the ground, otherwise a lot of the energy of the throw might be lost. Strange how that bit of physics is visible in a digital portrait, but damn, I guess it is.

yes, it does seem he is running and preparing to throw from the stance, although the main thing to catch my attention was the hand. i would have expected the palm of the hand to be facing inwards rather than outwards. i could be wrong, but it seems an unlikely throwing position. although if i consider how people hold spears when holiding them upright, they do hold them the way round you have shown; but i just don't see how they could easily throw with such a position. although as a side note, my elbow is oddly jointed, which is also why i can't be certain i am correct. you'll have to sit there pretending to throw a javelin like i have during typing this; that or look at a few references.
