ahem, so..... in the anthro AU, Panda first met Ugly Cat when he was very young. about 10+ years ago from the current timeline.

he was a quite unfortunate kid. Panda's real father passed away due to illness when he was 6, and his mother become emotionally distant ever since. because of that, he doesn't feel comfortable being at home, and he didn't have any friends either.

that's when Ugly Cat came in, he saw this lonely kid outside playing by himself and decided to help by befriending him (or rather, 'adopt' him like his own son). everyday he would play with Panda, take him to places, give him food and etc. even let him sleep in his house : http://www.furaffinity.net/view/33712193/

this went on for a few years until suddenly one day Ugly Cat went missing. but that is a story for another day.
