What an achievement! If you look at the standings it looks like he dominated but he only had 4 poles. It was a battle especially losing Niki Lauda. He convinced Mercedes to hire a non-German driver (the higher-ups wanted Nick Heidfeld) and convinced Hamilton to join. He was instrumental to getting both Mercedes and Hamilton to where they are today and all the motorsporting world miss him. I'm not the biggest Hamilton fan in the world but I think he is one of the all time greats and one of the best racers out there. He is so smart with everything he does on track. His qualifying ability is second only to Aryton Senna. I am in awe of his ability and accomplishments. Can he make it 7? It will be tricky but I believe he could very well do it. Only one other driver has ever reached 7; Michael Schumacher.
