This is the continuation of the project I started earlier this year. This is VekNoir’s head so far.
Built within two days, total time. Just been morning and afternoon with normal work between. This Eva foam is pretty awesome stuff.
I will love any help or suggestions folks can give on how to make led eyes, and a ‘one way’ visor for this as well. I know some Protogens have something like what I’m thinking of..

For the eyes you’d have to decide what you want them to look like. If you don’t need them to change, you can probably find EL pads that you can mask over in the right pattern. If you do want them to change and want them pixelated, you can probably arrange a bunch of separate LEDs in the right patterns, but having some kind of grid to separate the LED cells would help the pixelation effect. I know people use Teensy microcontrollers to do things much more complex than what you’d need from the eyes on this.
For the visor to be “one way” I think it’s mostly just a matter of reducing the reflections coming from inside the visor, and you can probably use car tint to darken it. Car tint is probably going to be a good way to figure out what the right amount of tint is, also. If you can spare having multiple “lenses” to change out, you may want to try having three lenses that are 90%, 80%, and 70% tint to see what works in what amount of light.
This looks like a great start and I can’t wait to see how this develops.
