Harwill stopped in his tracks when a glint in an ancient car wreck caught his eye. It didn't take much to distract him on this trip; if it was somewhat shiny and was pre-war tech, he'd make a detour to check it out. Just like he was doing now.
That glint in the wreckage had come from a radio in the vehicle's dashboard. It was dented and dulled, but the front panel of the unit was still reflective enough to have caught Harwill's attention.
Next to him, his cousin-brother watched with a deadpan expression as he reached into the car and started prying at the radio with a screwdriver. It was strange having to refer to his relationship with the tribal Meowstic using that description. How was "cousin-brother" that even a word? Anyway, it wasn't as strange as the horn that protruded from their forehead. That thing was literally a part of their skull for Arceus' sake, an actual spire of bone. They inherited it from their mother, a tribal Lopunny, to boot. Next to that, and both of their biological parents all being "female", the loincloth and tribal tattoos weren't so weird.
But Harwill sometimes had trouble remembering his cousin-brother's name. What was it again? Kajika? Yuma? Both maybe? Something related to their status or a notable trait. It was surprising that they didn't name the horned Meowstic some word that meant "horned cat" or something, that was certainly a notable trait. Morphs in his cousin-brother's tribe certainly had some pretty funny and odd names. Oh well.
It didn't take long for Harwill to get the radio out of the car, though some of the wires were kind of ripped out along with it. It looked like a nice piece of ancient tech. Maybe it still worked, but he wouldn't know that until he got back home. It would go nicely with his collection of pre-war tech in his little garage.
Harwill wiggled his hip slightly as he pulled out of the car, the motion causing his cousin-brother a small amount of embarrassment at having to witness the slightly idiotic display. To their credit they kept a neutral face, not that Harwill noticed or cared about being watched at that moment. He had his prize and he couldn't wait to get home.
