The design for Emperor Ademar's royal costume. This was completed a couple nights ago over Ustream with the help and suggestions of a few of the viewers. I wanted to incorporate the kingdom's embrace of nature into his clothing, so I made a good amount of vinework wrapping around his body, and turned his crown into a tree of its own. I decided against putting any sort of intricate ornaments in the clothing itself, since really -- this thing is detailed enough as it is!
I've been broadcasting on Ustream regularly each evening with more of my work on Ademar and Peter & Company. If you'd like to know when I turn on my camera for a live drawing demo, watch my Twitter page and bookmark the following link:

Wow, this is really cool, Jon! I really love how you've thickened his neck ruff into reminding the viewer of a thick beard. Though the uninformed might look upon him and think him somewhat odd or eccentric for his choice of dress, there is no mistaking his majesty or regal presence. And yet, at the same time, he doesn't seem like the type of ruler that would be aloof from his subjects, but instead would be more of a King Arthur type who realized that his power depended upon the very people he ruled over.
