Game Over: Dragon Warrior [Personal Art]
Another repost of my old art.

DeviantArt Description from that date:
[The hero, descendant of Loto, gives in to the temptation of power offered by the evil Dragonlord. He casts aside his heroism and chooses to rule half the world.
Unfortunately, his cowardice is met with trickery, as the Dragonlord calls forth an evil curse to transform the once-hero into a dragon like himself. Bit by bit, sticky goo covers him, lengthening his feet into the sharply clawed feet of a dragon, enlarging his body into a menacing shape, giving him wings and a tail...
The hero realizes his failure, letting monsters run free across Alefgard, letting down King Lorik, and most of all, his ancestor. It is too late however, as his body resembles that of a dragon, and not a human. Drips of infectiously cursed slime fall to the ground, as it nears his head, threatening to erase the land's only hope of redemption...
I dunno, I had it mostly finished already, and it's a simple design to finish up, so I thought I would. The idea here is, in the first Dragon Quest, or Dragon Warrior for some people, the Hero is given the option to join the Dragonlord, who is the main evil threatening the land of Alefgard. He offers for you to rule half the world by his side. In game, selecting yes leaves some ambiguity insinuates that you either die, or it was a dream (in the remakes). I like to think otherwise.
I'm a fetish artist, of course I like to think otherwise.
It's not what I usually draw, so if you don't like it, uh... oh well? ]
My thoughts now:
This art is garbage haha but I was horny for the bad ending and for the dumb dragonlord don't judge me

All the same, I like how Dragon Quest Builders handled this possibility better.
The hero was indeed granted part of the world to rule over. However, "Part of the world" is actually just a small castle in the middle of nowhere.
By the time the Builder runs into him, the Hero has pretty much went insane due to the isolation and started believing he rules everything.
Also, he did end up devolving into a monster. Except he didn't become a Dragon, he instead became a unique Hoodie called "the King of Darkness".
Certainly fits a lot better in a "rewarded as a coward and traitor deserves" kind of way. Dude threw away his duty as a hero and was rewarded with a dingy old castle, control of nothing and no one, and a total loss of both his sanity and his humanity.
