And now we head inside the place where something begins to change for Sakura.

Cursed Area

The three Enjus in the group led the way out of this village by a different tunnel that led them to a section of the wooded area here. A small path led up to the temple that the leader brothers told the group about. An archway made of wood led the way inside. “This is it,” Izuna said.

“Luckily I brought some light,” Johnny stated and brought out a flashlight to help him see.

“I’m getting a chill just looking at this,” the Invisible Man said who had also come here.

“Hey at least if you take your glasses off, nothing can see you; you’re lucky,” Nicholas commented with a grin. “Now come on.”

He led the way into the tunnel where it got dark, but not too dark. A couple of bats fluttered about, disturbed by Johnny’s light but didn’t attack. The group then stepped out into the first room of this place and looked around. They could see the Enju had indeed made this place one they visited as symbols and colors that represented them and used were here on some of the wood in decorative patterns. There even seemed to be areas to train in this main room. “Nice, look at this,” Sakura commented.

“Ugh, I stepped in webbing,” Dennis stated, shaking some off of his right shoe.

That’s when the group really saw the webs that were spun here. Even worse they had spiders, ones the size of Dennis’s head in them. “Oh boy…” Vlad whispered.

“Shall we?” Nicholas asked the Enjus here who nodded and summoned blades of wind to slice the webbing and the spiders up. These were cleared and the group went over to them.

“These are nasty and not the kind I’ve seen in the village,” the kitsune stated.

“Not the friendly kind either,” Sakura commented. These spiders were black and red and looked like real predators. “These things will definitely attack us for sure.”

“These weren’t here before,” Sabu said. “They must have come in here after the trouble started. And they’ve made their home in here.”

“Well hopefully they haven’t destroyed this place too much,” Tujik commented.

The group then went forward into another training area and here they saw the really big spiders, almost as big as an adult human. They landed and began to head towards the group. These were taken care of quickly. But there was webbing that blocked the way forward. And it was the very thick kind. But not thick enough to stop them from slicing through it. “Which way now?” he asked Izuna and the Enju pointed ahead.
After going through another door the group found themselves in a huge open area where the wind was blowing. There were three bridges that connected to the other the other side ahead since there was only open space. The one in the middle was only a rope one but the other two on the left and right were more solid. “Let’s go in,” Sakura said and began to walk forward.

Nicholas looked to her a little weary since he cared for her. Just then something came out up ahead. It looked like some kind of phantom in a cloaked that was ripped. The female kitsune jumped in shock as this was a surprise. The new creature raised its hands and sent wind mixed with lighting at her. “SAKURA!” Nicholas shouted and leapt forward on his powers. The male made it to her just in time before it could hit the female. Nicholas swept her into his arms and got her out of the way and back to where the others where while the Enjus fired attacks of wind at the enemy but they missed. The cloaked figured cackled and disappeared by moving back and out of their line of sight. The attack it had used had also destroyed the bridge.

Nicholas got Sakura to safety where the others were. “That was close,” he said and then looked to her. “You okay?”

She blushed and felt her heart was beating a little too fast all of a sudden. Not from the encounter but by being this close to Nicholas and in his arms. “Yes…” she mumbled, embarrassed and looking away.

“Well that’s no good that way,” Murray stated while the female kitsune was set down on her feet gracefully.

“Was that thing there before?” Drac asked.

“No and that’s what worries me,” Sabu answered. “Well guess we’ll have to go around.”

The Enjus led the way going back to the previous room and to the right. Here more spiders and webs greeted the group including some plant like enemies. These were carnivorous like monsters that weren’t friendly and would eat anyone. Some even had wings to fly on but all were taken out with no problem. And it wasn’t long before they were back again at the room from before but approaching it a different way. They stopping in front of the door. “You think whatever that thing was is inside?” Mavis asked.

“Probably,” Nicholas replied. “Time to take it out.”

They went inside and saw they were in a large circular room. The group spotted the webbing in here but no spiders. There were carnivorous plant like enemies growing from the ceiling. And then in the center the enemy from before appeared. The Enjus drew their weapons while everyone else got ready but Johnny who was ready to move if need be. The cloaked being clapped its hands together and suddenly there were four of them. “It can do that?!” Wanye asked.

“Uh oh…” Winnie said as she realized this thing was going to attack.

The enemy did and shot the same kind of attack from before to the plants to detach them from the ceiling. All four bodies did this so there were quite a few of the other enemies that came slithering in at the group. “Take care of the small fry, I’m going after the main problem!” Nicholas told the others who weren’t the Enju or Sakura.

“Wait, but-!” began Dracula but then glared since he hadn’t finished his sentience seeing those five go forward.

The other five found themselves in front of the cloaked figures. They floated for a few seconds before all firing the same attack at the ones before them. The ones who used wind brought out their power with a shot, deflecting it away while Sakura created water to launch at the enemy. Three of the bodies disappeared, revealing the original body. “Attack that!” she exclaimed.

The three Enju did and managed to get hits. But the monster wasn’t finished and did the same thing with splitting again. But this time it attack quicker and formed the attacks in forms of orbs that were sent at the five. The four from before deflected these back at the enemy which got hit and the three bodies from before disappeared. The main one was attacked and that did it. The thing flailed and its body blew up in a small explosion of the same stuff that had seen before in the village before it disappeared. All the webbing in here melted away as well. Now the group saw this was another room but one of higher importance. Like a place for one on one teachings. “Well that was different,” Johnny said. The rest had managed to get rid of the small fry that had been sent at them.

“If that was there, I hate to think how the Enju brother’s parents are,” Nicholas commented. “That was nothing.”

“Oh I don’t think it was too bad,” Sakura stated. “Come on, let’s see if we can find them.”

The group went forward and fought their way through the rest of the enemies until soon they were standing in front of the biggest door they had seen yet. “This has to be it,” Izuna said. “This is the last room and where they are.”

“We can do this,” Nicholas stated. “We have to for the sake of the humans and Enju and us Kitsunes living at my home as well.”

“Yes,” Sakura agreed.

“Eh, this has been better than I thought it would be,” Dracula commented with a shrug.

“Come on!” Erica stated getting a grin. With a nod, the door was opened and they all went inside.
