Seriously tho, this is what I'be been up to in the last weeks, this manga lit a serious fire under my butt like nothing else has in 30 years. Been toying with a lot of ideas 'cause of this and 'cause of that I almost stopped playing videogames entirely simply 'cause I've been drawing and practicing so much

you gotta watch the stopmotion anime intro its spectacular

Yeah I've seen it, it's crazy good. I don't access to the anime in my country yet tho, but I'm looking forward to it (I have netflix and they've been adding a lot of anime so I got my hopes up)

I'm caught up with the manga online and am buying the Viz publications of the volumes, got a mail on friday saying they dispatched the 3rd volume, was only expecting it in December ( º3º)/

They did a great job adapting the manga so far blood is censored tho

Yeah I was wondering about that, I really like how Paru treats relationships in the manga and she doesn't shy away from sexuality in it so I can't help but think how they'll portray that in the anime while still maintaining whatever rating the show has.

How far is the anime in relation to the manga?

The manga is seriously great, up to chapter 151 and still growing still, cool fact: the creator is the daughter of another manga artist who made Baki the Grappler. A very manly manga series so I’m sure he’s very proud of his child making such a great series many will love. Another fun fact: the manga came out a few months after Zootopia the same year

And holy shit I didn't knew she is the daughter of Keisuke! I'm a big fan of Baki as well (especially Hanayama). That kinda explains why the scene where Rhyz rips the ceiling felt both so cool and familiar at the same time. That sort of latent menace and sheer power contained in physical form is the hallmark of the Baki series.

It also explains how she creates and deflates tension at the drop of hat, Keisuke is also really good at that.

Now I can't help but to imagine Legoshi done by Keysuke, it would be muscles with muscles on top of muscles flexing muscles

Hehehe well I think Legosi’s grandpa was inspired by Baki because of how strong he is physically being a Komodo dragon and all that

Getting a lala land vibe but then the manga has refs to pulp fiction, 3 men and a baby, flashdance godfather and other movies in the manga and anime.

Of all the movies you mentioned, the first one if the only one that doesn't ring a bell curiously enough lol. Reason I picked Lindy Hop as the dance those two were making is because it's a more fast-paced, frenetic dance that reminds me of their relationship, and from an aesthetic standpoint their school uniforms remind me of the sort of clothing used back then. Furthermore I rather enjoy electro-swing and the music I imagine them dancing to is very much fitting to their relationship (even now in the current manga chapter, good grief Haru, get yer act together girl!).

I LOVE the different layers, like the plants in the foreground and the petals. The lighting is also just so warm and looks so good
