Ladies & gentlemen...wonderful people on FA who are reading this now...you are witnesses to a preview of an upcoming fanfiction of mine--& for once, it doesn't have anything to do with Disney or Kubrickian fandoms, but another fandom, altogether! :D Perhaps, you may recall, from the days of your childhood, when you & your classmates were treated to a viewing of the classic anti-drug movie, "Cartoon All-Stars To The Rescue". (I do recall those times, & with much fondness. :) ) Since early 2009 (if not sooner), I have rediscovered that lovely gem of a film, & after several viewings of it on Youtube, I have not only been hit with wave after wave of nostalgic reverie, but I have also been struck with the idea to write a sequel-fanfiction for CASTTR.
Yes...You have just heard me correctly. I plan to write a follow-up to the movie in question. *nods head* Now, I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I'll tempt you a little with some basic information about the upcoming story... ;)
The year is 1996. Michael (the star of the original film) has been cured of his addictions to drugs & alcohol, &, now, he is spending most of his time away at college, while he strives to get his degree. In the years he's spent at university, Michael has managed to make friends with several people, including his dorm-mate, a girl named Janice.
Unbeknownst to everyone around her, however, Janice is silently suffering from depression, & at the encouragement of the evil Smoke (yes, folks, he's back!), she falls into the same trap that Michael did earlier (only with prescription drugs, instead of street drugs). Michael soon gets wind of what's happening, & he is determined to help Janice overcome her addictions, with the help of a new line-up of altruistic cartoon characters (including the Rugrats, Arnold & Gerald [& Helga!], the Rescue Rangers, & then some). Will Michael & the Cartoon All-Stars rescue Janice from Smoke's wicked & powerful influence? That, my friends, is for you to find out! :D
