*Sitting on the computer chair looking tired and almost like in a vegetative state* *Types away at the keyboard*
Well folks, it finally happened. I finally snapped and found my way crossing over the limits of my capabilities and took on a challenge I nearly killed myself over.
About two months ago before my cruise Christmas vacation I was talking with a friend of mine (http://dannyman.deviantart.com/) about Photoshop and its effects. Somewhere along the line we talked about a poster size canvas and he suggested I tried drawing something on Photoshop on said canvas size to give drawing a try on different sizes to get to know the program.
And so, being the masochist that I am, I blew up an idea for a poster in my head and for a month I slaved and slaved away. So here I am, showing the results of my work.
And yes, I'm aware this isn't actual poster size. I reduced the image size by around 75% or so just so I can give a small version as a work in progress preview.
This is a poster based on my Kung Fu Panda story, The Stone Warrior Legend. Yes, I'm basically hyping it up for when I come around to work on it again after I finish two other stories I want to finish first.
I'm sure everyone can recognize Po there, and I'm sure people can guess who's the ominous shadowy figure looming in the background there.
The fox on the upper right is a new character who's introduced in the story. I will have more details on him soon.
As for the crocodile, Wei Chiang, everyone got to know him in my last drawing. His weapon gave me such a headache to get it to come out right. Four pics of references later I managed to get it to look right.
And on the lower right there is Yuan Hong Shi. Yes, he seems to be shedding out of a shell made out of stone.
I want everyone to do me a favor. Zoom in as much as you can up to Yuan's face. Especially on that chip of rock shell on his left cheek. I'm rather proud of that and Po's face as well.
I just wanted to show this off and let everyone know what I've been working on this past month. The hands were agony for me to get them right. I resorted to a lot of references and even making myself look silly posing in front of the mirror to get an idea on how they should look. Danny helped me with Po's closed fist.
So yeah, this is just the sketch version. Still a work in progress. I'm intending on inking the damn thing and coloring it, even try to shadow it. I came this far, so might as well give it my best shot.
