Gonna start posting these on here instead.
I forget how it got brought up but I just remembered how I used to be interested in these things when I was a bit younger, only to find out it was not the fun mind experience I was hoping for. 8D

You really have summed both topics up quite well. Although I have largely missed out on philosophy, I've gotten to see, and hear, the dark side of what politics can do to people.
Though, I guess you could say I have a philosophy on politics. That being (s)he with the most money and fame gets the power. Therefore, by its current nature, politics are inherantly corrupt from how, simply, those in high places are little more than paid puppets who move to the strings of those who pad their wallets and keep them in power.
Bottom line, as long as the status quo remains, I fear The Greater Good will never be served. Rather, it'll always be like a perpetual game of Monopoly where everyone is scrambling for whatever they can get before the other folks get it first.
:) This is why I like it here. Everyone is equal and, for the price of a good conversation and a comment, friendships can be made that last a lifetime. :) Gaboo!

Yes....I remember asking about taking philosophy as a class. And as they explained it, I realized, what's there to openly philosophize about? You get graded! There are wrong answers! And I didn't want any of that anyway, and then I started looking into Philosophy and it's like...Megh, I don't know, I switched to psychology...Child psychology actually ;D
But I'm still into politics. And yes that sums it to a T :< People don't realize...That they can be wrong sometimes. SOMETIMES. Everyone who I've met who's into politics and is far to one or the other side just sees that they're right, no other points have value or merit, the other guy doesn't "get it", game over, you're going to hell, live with it >:C
yeah lol

Philosophy is amazing. It's the entire reason I do LD-Debate. I mean, it degenerates into whose philosophy is right, but that's just for the sake of the debate. Afterwards it's all up to you and your opponent to think about it.
I have a deep, immeasurable love for immanuel Kant because of it. :[ I love his philosophies.

Being utilitarianist, I oppose Kantian deontological ethics, except in those cases where it is of utility.
There are many philosophies that are not so much an enclosed matter of right or wrong, true or false, like philosophical skepticism, cultural relativism, or consequentialism itself. A philosophical attitude is often regarded as a thoughtful open minded attitude, like a child discovering the world for the first time, surprised with everything that he sees and wishing to embrace more; this view supported by the etymology of the word philosophy itself.
A perspective that I very much support is that philosophy coexists within you, from the moment you reassert your creeds through your actions. We all have a philosophy to our lives. Even though some dedicate themselves to pondering them aloud with explicit philosophical terminology, most philosophy is being, day by day, in the usual way of being. Without semantic doubts. Without lordly propositions. The love of a mother is philosophy. The passion for sports is philosophy. Mediterranean diet, Hindu cuisine, British tea, are philosophies.
In that sense, most philosophy is non-explicitly philosophical, and yet, it is probably more influential in our every day lives than the so called philosophy of academic philosophers. The love and use of knowledge of that which true, or real, or right, or good, belongs to every person willing to make use of it, included those situations where we simply want to enjoy ourselves. Not explaining ourselves in a classic philosophical fashion doesn't make those situations any less lovingly knowledgeable or meaningful.
I do not speak like this when the matter at hand is not philosophy, yet I stay true to myself knowing it in every stance of my existence. That you do not regularly think of it does not bother me, since that you are all happy, satisfied, and well, is, philosophically reasoned, more important than philosophy itself.
Do engage in social satisfying interaction :)
