I really wish I had said this. Then they would have at least known that they couldn't bullshit me, and I could've gone home early.

Hehehe. Yup thats basically the mind set of my old manager. Granted the restaurants I was working at were not 40 mins away (though I think maybe a handful were). The manager would always tell us about how we need to put more effort into our work and give 110% or some other bullshit like that.
It's easy to say "give 110%" when all your doing is sitting on your ass in a nice comfy chair writing up forms and going to meetings and shit while me and the rest of the cooks were doing the "real" work!

lol, yeah, when I worked at Jo-Ann, I started working at a small "traditional" store that didn't do crap like that, but as soon as we moved to the "superstore" and our little store got shut down, I had to listen to that bull ALL THE TIME.
Oh and the contraction of "you are" is "you're" >_>;;;;;;;;;

Hahaha, well, your/you're is like a huge pet peeve of mine XZD I usually don't point out grammar errors b/c they're really not important as long as you can still understand what it's saying, but since the joke was about having logic/math skills, I figured it'd be in character to have prescriptive grammar skills ;)
And yeah, I ended up getting laid off after all those "motivational talks" anyway, along with all the other workers who had been working at the old store (some for even 10+ years), because when they opened the superstore, we basically just staffed it until they could hire a bunch of incompetent teenagers to work for minimum wage... they didn't want to pay those of us who actually made a decent living off their job, I guess O_o

Remember, teenagers need money too! For college. So they don't have to work for crappy stores like that.
But yeah, that REALLY sucks. If you get a hundred idiots together, eventually they'll do SOMETHING right.
Kinda like the monkeys writing shakespear.
Hope you found something better!
