Today's Mimic piece is a sack of gold coins with blue velvet lining.
These monsters come in sizes of medium or large, but the latter are rare. The tip of the cord around the neck of the sack can grow into a tiny, clawed paw & latch into its prey, should they try to pick it up from the top. The loose coins are coated in a sticky mucus, attached to tendrils that usually are tucked under the Mimic's bottom. The coins will cling to their prey, but can also be used for climbing up into chests, surfaces such as tables or stairs. They prefer to dwell in dungeons, abandoned houses & the occasional library or low-security banks. Goblins, humans & other races have been known to train them to guard treasure rooms.
