Nothing better than spreading the joy of socks with someone special~

A piece I've been meaning to upload for a while now, and
ValiaMoonseer was kind enough to write a story to go with it! See Below:
It was a tight fit for the two dragonesses to make their way through the store to the dressing
room to try on socks, but thankfully the room itself was large enough for them to move about
comfortably. One of the employees had even been willing to bring back a selection of socks for them to
look through, although whether she did it out of kindness or to prevent the dragonesses from accidently
swatting over another display with their tails was a matter of debate.
Valia picked up a completely purple sock from their selection and held it against her chest to see
how it contrasted with her dark blue scales. The color wasn’t bad, but its design was a bit too plain for
the type of sock she was looking for.
Her friend Reaver came over to join her and take a look. The red dragoness had made socks a
staple of her fashion choices for several years and was best known for sporting a pair of striped green
socks on her hind legs. She had been the one that suggested this particular store for Valia to find a pair
of socks for herself.
“That would look nice on you,” Reaver said with a warm smile. She had her wings up and was
carrying two pairs of socks with her wing thumbs. One pair was a bold lime green without any designs
and the other was blue with bright cloud patterns.
Valia eyed the sock against herself for another moment, and then shook her head and laid it
next to its partner beside the other rejected pairs. “I like the purple, but I think I want my first pair to be
something with a bit more pizazz.”
She put special emphasis on the final word and made a little gesture with her forepaws to go
with it.
“Pizazz as in color?” Reaver mimicked her overdramatic pronunciation, then tipped her right
wing forward to show off the green socks, and after a moment moved her right wing to show the cloud
sock instead. “Or as in style?”
The blue dragoness looked between the two options before shaking her head. “I think those are
both too much pizzazz for me.”
“Can someone really have too much pizazz?” Reaver said, emphasizing the word one more time.
Valia gave her an unamused look and Reaver smiled back, then they both broke into a fit of
giggles.
“Alright, alright,” Valia said, recovering first and moving back to one of their piles of other
options. After having been at the store for a good hour searching through socks, the two had made a bit
of mess of the dressing room. “Let’s see what else we have…”
She trailed off as she picked a pair of stripes socks out the pile. They were purple, alternating
between a darker purple like the pair she had been admiring before and then a lighter purple for
contrast. Immediately, Valia knew that she had to try them on.
With a bit of difficulty, Valia rolled onto her back to carefully tug the first sock over her hind leg.
She had to be cautious to make sure that her claws didn’t accidently slice the cloth, and so it took a bit
longer than it would for a human to put on their socks. It also didn’t help that it was tough for a
dragoness to reach her hind legs and manipulate the soft cloth with her foreclaws.
While she struggled with the two striped socks, she noticed that Reaver’s attention was drawn
to digging through the pile of rejected socks and moving some of them over to a rack in the corner of
the room. The rack was meant to hold around five pairs of socks, but Reaver had quickly overloaded that
and there was now a new pile forming. These socks were the ones that she was hoping to buy for
herself, and there were at least twenty pairs already.
“I really love these cloud socks, but then the lime socks are nice too. Which do you think I should
get? Or should I just take both?” Reaver asked, not glancing back as she compared the two options.
“Reaver,” Valia called excitedly. She had finally gotten both socks on and crossed her legs and
laid paw with her wings sprawled out, doing her best to mimic a sexy pose that would show off the
socks.
The red dragoness looked between the two sock pairs in her paws again, oblivious to the
situation behind her. She held each up against her scales one at a time before nodding. “You’re right,
Valia. I should just buy both.”
“Reaaaaver.” Valia raised the pitch and held her friend’s name this time the way she often did
when they were being playful together, trying not to laugh at the red dragoness’s antics as she did so.
“Hmm?” Reaver finally turned her head and looked back curiously, then gasped, dropping the
green socks in the process. “Valia…you look…”
“Charming, elegant, sexy?” Valia’s laugh finally broke out. With each word, she altered her pose
a little to show off how the socks paired with her form and try to match the mood.
Reaver slipped the cloud socks back onto her wing thumb and padded over, her eyes never
leaving her blue-scaled friend. “Alluring…”
A deep blush crossed Valia’s cheeks and she looked up in surprise. “Oh? You…think so?”
The red dragoness drifted closer and nodded softly. Her gaze was clearly roaming the blue
dragoness’s body, working from her hind legs up to her eyes, and then back. It hovered over her hips
longer than was necessary. “I can think of another good pose you should try for alluring.”
“Mmm, how about this one?” Valia regained some of her confidence and smiled slyly, learning
back further as she folded one hind leg down and stretched the other one out as if reaching toward her
friend with it. “Alluring enough for you?”
Reaver’s jaw dropped in surprise, then immediately shifted to a grin of excitement. Her cheeks
seemed to redden a bit more than usual, although it was tough to tell along her normal scales. She
licked her lips, her gaze lingering between the now-exposed space between Valia’s legs. “Keep posing
like that and I’ll have to show you a few poses of my own. Our sock piles could make a cozy bed.”
“Oh Reaver.” Valia blushed hard and covered her face with her paws in a poor attempt to hide
the blush. That was so like her friend to suggest.
The red dragoness began purring and moved in closer. She began to position herself over Valia,
leaning her head down to nose her paws out of the way. Their eyes met and Reaver smiled. “I didn’t
hear a no, dear.”
She shifted closer and began to lick along Valia’s jawline. The blue dragoness huffed softly and
began to return the gesture by nuzzling along her cheek toward her horns.
“We…probably shouldn’t do this here…” Valia said quietly, though she didn’t pull back yet.
Instead, she flicked her tongue across the base of one of Reaver’s horns, sending a shiver through the
red dragoness’s body and prompting louder purrs.
Reaver withdrew her head enough to meet Valia’s eyes once more, and then wordlessly
pressed her lips to hers for a kiss, letting a forepaw caress over Valia’s chest as she did so.
Unconsciously, the blue dragoness brought her wings up to wrap around her friend’s body to provide
extra warmth and intimacy.
They shared the shared the kiss for several long moment, expressing their passions in relative
silence before Valia broke the kiss and pulled her wings back.
“Not here, sweetie. Not in the store,” she said, gently nudging her friend to step off.
Reaver grumbled and didn’t move at first. “Why not now? We’ve had the dressing room this
long.”
“That’s exactly why. We’ve been in here too long already. Soon they’ll…”
Valia trailed off as there was a knocking on the door. A human voice called in from the other
side. “Are you dragons almost done? We have other customers waiting.”
A growl began to grow in Reaver’s throat, and her attention snapped toward the door. Valia
quickly put a paw up to cover her friend’s muzzle and shouted a reply first.
“We’re almost done. Just getting the socks we picked out together.”
There was no reply from the door, and Valia let out a small sign of relief when they weren’t
given any trouble. Reluctantly, Reaver stepped off her and moved over to her sock pile, grumbling
something about the nerve of the employees to rush them. She tossed the pile over her back so that she
wouldn’t lose them on the way to the counter to pay.
Valia rolled to her feet to wait for her friend. She left her socks on and was planning to just show
them to the cashier instead of taking them off and then putting them on again.
Reaver tried a few experimental steps to see if the socks stayed in place on her back before
nodding that she was ready. “It’s like you have some sixth sense sometimes. Did you know they were
coming to knock on the door?”
“Not explicitly, but I had a feeling we were due for something. We have been in here for a long
time.” Valia stepped closer. Reaver still had the cloud pattern sock hanging from her wing thumb, and
the blue dragoness flashed a playful smile before snatching it and laying it over her own back as claim.
Reaver’s mood lightened and she laughed, then gave the blue dragoness a hip bump. “Had a
feeling, eh? Wait until we get back to your cave and I’ll give you a feeling you won’t soon forget.”
“Sounds like an excellent way to break in my new socks. Both pairs now.” Valia opened the door
to leave the dressing room, her claws making a soft click at they touched the metal handle.
The red dragoness purred and made a half-hearted attempt to snatch the sock back, but Valia
skipped to the side to avoid it and stuck out in her tongue before slipping through the door to safety.
