Another entry to the '200 Games Marathon'. We kicked it of with 'The Legend of Zelda.' Now let's continuewith the next great NES classic that made gaming what it is today: Super Mario Brothers!
Mario - Played by Chris Fuzz
Luigi - Played by Roger Halen
Bowser - Played by Brian Fuzz
Princess Toadstool - Played by Lola Henderson
First Chris was Link, now he became Mario. Keep in mind I play al these games as the main characters; so naturally I use my own fursona to represent them.
Why is he riding on Luigi's back? Simply; cause he doesn't want Bowser to burn his ass.
I chose Roger to be Luigi cause he's not amogn the most noted of my charas; like Luigi. But more so simply because he too is a fraidy cat standing in the shadow of his vastly superior brother.
Brian Fuzz is playing Bowser i na sort of wierd turtle/bobcat hybrid thing. Well Bowser was sort of a hybrid to begin with: part turtle, part dragon. (Kinda like Gamera.) He is holding Princess toadstool (yeah I know..it's Peach) captive in his castle right behind him.
Like before, Lola is playing the role of the princess in distress. from Zelda to Toadstool, Lola fits the dynamic well. And she doesn't seem the wiser; just simply waving and being all cheerful while watching Chrisio and Roigi nearly get burned by Bowsian!
Ruth, Chris's main squeeze, is a girl I could never picture in a frilly pink dress or allowing herself to be captured by the likes of Bowser or Ganon. Lola only seems logical to use. XD
Bowser' minions on the right consist of a red shelled Kopa, a Goomba, A spike-Top, a Pirahna Plant and a flying Cheep Cheep. I drew em myself. ;-D
The whole foreground characters were made by me. But the background was a sprite ripped from the old game. Seems fitting to want to bring back some of that ol' nostalgia of this ultimate classic title.
This was fun because this forms an actual scene representing the whole game. The former page was a sort of collage. Each page allows me to create something completely different and experiment with new ideas.
So there you have it in all its classic 8 Bit glory; the original Super Mario Brothers acted out by my characters.
