The darkness comes to me it seems.
Closer and closer it crawls.
Closer to me until it falls.

I see a shadow, beyond the hill.
I feel it coming, I hear it scream.
Like an echo, like a dream.

Stepping closer to the edge I look over.
I look down, down, down it goes.
The river it lashes, bubbles and flows.

Others saw me in a brighter light.
They saw me as stronger and smarter.
If I die now... will I become a martyr...?

Jump Jump! I need to Jump!
Falling over the edge into the river.
Let my body rot and wither.

However I hear the slightest cry.
My kits will be alone and exposed...
If I leave them, they'll die... eaten by crows.

So I stay, I live just for them.
I drag myself along until I'm to far
