After seeing the new trailer today, I had to whip this up. I've been doing a little traditional drawing and coloring lately, so I figured I'd give it a try here too. I think digital art will always have a more...finished look. If that makes sense. At the very least, the final result is a lot smoother. Colored pencil always seems to pick up a lot of texture from the paper. So, that can be good and bad.
Anywho, I'm pretty psyched about how Sonic's redesign turned out. He looks so much better. I was honestly a little shocked. In this day and age where Hollywood b*%ches at you for daring to complain and not just hand them money, it's so refreshing to have a studio listen to the fans. But the little Sonic has a good point. Will it be any good? Game based movies have a well known history of...sucking.

I'm so glad for the change. I have always disliked seeing video game movies in theaters, but darn it, I am going to have to show my support for Paramount here!
Traditional drawing does sometimes look unfinished to me as well. But... I dunno', it just has way more character. I especially love the style for doodles like these~
