+ HALL OF MIRRORS +

At the end of the rather plain passage from the great hall, is a glorious, shining hall. Massive mirrors reflect the light from the moon coming through the matching windows to the east. The ceiling is painted with scenes of heroes and gods, set in between golden encrustations. A line of massive opulent chandeliers hangs pendulously from the vaulted ceiling, while gilded statues hoist up massive candelabras.

The room was designed to dazzle, to awe it does – the spellbinding combination of gold, mirrors and ancient wealth entrances you. No expense was spared to create this jewel of a hall. You admire your reflection, as you pass by those decadent mirrors. Almost imagining if this was your castle, and these grand mirrors, yours.

Until that is you see something odd. Something dark flashes in the mirror ahead of you, you draw closer to inspect it.

The mirror has no trace of the odd shadow you saw, just your reflection staring back at you. Normal giant mirror – you guess at first – until you closer at your ears – your ears weren’t that pointed – and you definitely never had green hues in your skin.

Your reflection laughs, and moves independently – “You caught me” It cackles, “But now it’s time for you to match your reflection!” You gasp in shock – as the figure changes – teeth sharpening, eyes turning red – skin becoming green. It ripples with muscle and claws – a hulking monster stares at you beyond the polished glass.

The thing in the mirror points to you – and you find your hand matching the gesture. “Your turn – I know you’ll love being me.” It says, eyes flashing. In a matter of horrifying seconds – you become a mirror image of the monster inside the mirror. You laugh in sync with your reflection once as the MIRROR MONSTER.
