80 inches forward of the wings leading edge, that way everything is positive numbers for stations.
It's a good way to avoid some confusions.

I don't know where it prop flange will be just yet or where the front of the prop hub is, that is why I am using 80 inches forward of the leading edge. It is common to use the prop hub or the forward face of the prop as a datum point for weight and balance. Some manufacturers use the firewall for there station frame measurements for weight and balance .

The waterline datum is the top of the fuselage that is why you see positive and negative numbers on the water line.

numbers make me crossed eyed too...
