I love the cadence of the opening lyrics. :D So surreal! Did you write those yourself or are they part of the piece? (I kind of feel like I don't entirely understand what's going on here. c.c)

I'm a huge System of a Down fan and kind of tried to copy that lyrical style while still keeping an old world feel to the words. My goal in lyrics is to plan little to no meaning whatsoever. Then, when people tell me what they think, they can't possibly be wrong with their interpretation.

If you haven't heard this before, that means you haven't played in a concert band for very long. I have played this on trombone with several different concert bands through high school and now even as I start college. It is considered the best band piece ever written. All of the melodies and counter-melodies are taken directly from the suite but it was originally entirely instrumental so there were never any words (at least that I know of).

I don't know how much you like concert band music but you should seek it out if you have any interest.

I do like classical, but I don't seek it out anymore. I can't say I'm a fan of concert band music, no. *shrug*
