Ghouls 'N Ghosts - The Hill of Torture (Tim Follin version)
Also: MP3 version
First of all, a little background.
The music of Ghouls 'N Ghosts was originally composed in 1988 by Tamayo Kawamoto - it was this music you hear in the arcade and Mega Drive versions of the game. But all the home computer ports of game I'm aware of were developed in 1989 by a U.K. developer called Software Creations (now defunct), and the music in their versions was either rearranged or composed original by Tim Follin. His version of the music was used in the Commodore 64 and Atari ST versions of the game. (I had the Atari ST version when I was young.) While some of the music (including most of the game levels) were only rearranged by Tim Follin, he composed the first level's music as a new original piece, and this is it. His music was also used for the Amiga version with even more new original music (its new title theme was very good), but this MIDI's particular level theme was excluded from that port for some reason.
Since the original music was chiptune, I adapted the music to instruments. I'm not 100% satisfied (there are probably areas where it could be improved upon), but I hope it sounds good anyway.
