Well, the term is still in use in Germany so I don't think it's accurate to call it "Revitalisation", I think it's just cultural appropriation.
Kind of like Brahmin and Yao Guai in Fallout, both meaning completely different things in their countries of origin than what they do in game.
(by the way the "basement dweller"-thing was meant ironiously, I don't think you can call someone else that with a straight face when right now you're posting on a furry forum so no offence)
